Who does what around here.
Most of Canton is AEP Ohio territory, while much of the surrounding county, including Massillon and Jackson Township, is served by Ohio Edison. The utility handles the lines and the meter; we handle everything from the meter base in.
Inside Canton, electrical permits come from the City of Canton Building Department, which requires a state OCILB license to register. Much of the rest of the county goes through the Stark County Building Department in North Canton. We confirm the right office for your address.
